Lancashire First Aid Training Ltd is Regulated by an Ofqual Awarding Body

This means that all our courses are Approved and Accredited by an Ofqual Awarding Body, (ITC First) who also provide all certification.  The Awarding Body carry out annual unannounced External Quality Assurance checks on our courses and systems, ensuring that you as the customer can have confidence on your choice of First Aid training provider. The Awarding Body carry out all necessary checks on the qualifications of our trainers.

This means that as an employer you do not need to carry out the HSE Due Diligence checks, choosing a provider registered with an Ofqual Awarding Body meets that requirement in full.

First Response First Aid

High quality First Aid skills only come from high quality training.

Lancashire First Aid Training Ltd

The company was first registered in 2009 and quickly established itself as a leading provider of first aid training in Lancashire and the North West.  All of our courses and trainers are approved and accredited by ITC First Ltd, an OFQUAL National Awarding Body who also certificates successful candidates. The company has become recognised as having a huge role in meeting the needs of schools mainly due to the innovative Emergency First Aid for Schools course which is hugely popular on open access courses and on INSET days in school.

The company has become highly respected in its provision of Level 6 (SCQF) Outdoor First Aid courses, and we are the provider of choice for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (NW Region), The Wildlife Trust (Lancs & Merseyside) and the Woodland Trust nationally.

Lancashire First Aid Training Ltd was chosen by the Awarding Body to design and deliver an Advanced First Aid course as the industry standard provision for the Wind Turbine industry working in the North Sea, and to take on the task of training the trainers for the independent companies.

More recently we have been chosen to develop and deliver a First Aid for Firefighters course for the Cleveland Fire Service, and to train the trainers to deliver it.

All our courses are practical and active, we do not believe candidates can learn essential skills by watching videos!   Our courses no longer feature practical examinations having discontinued them in favour of continuous assessment making the whole course experience engaging, fun and rewarding.

We work hard to make learning easy!

 Introducing the trainers

All of our trainers meet the stringent standards demanded by ITC First, the Awarding Body, and have both the professional clinical knowledge and educational qualifications that are pre-requisites.  Both Ian and Keith have been awarded the ‘Pre-Hospital Emergency Care’ certificate from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) as well as the conventional First Aid Qualifications.  David enjoyed a Nursing career for 40 years and holds an MA in Nursing with 20 years as a Nurse Teacher/Senior Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire and University of Cumbria.

The team has extensive education and training experience and they all hold a range of formal teaching certificates.

Ian is our ‘Forest Schools’ training specialist, and Keith is approved for courses we deliver for the Royal Yachting Association.

Their teaching is underpinned by actual pre-hospital emergency care of real casualties as between them the Directors have well in excess of 100 years membership of a Mountain Rescue Team, and are still active call-out members.

In addition, our team all hold Outdoor Education qualifications, ML, SPA, Cave Leader, RYA Instructor and Ski Instructor, with extensive experience in those roles.  They are all Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Assessors.
